With the summer season swiftly drawing to a close to welcome those cooler, scarf-wearing, hot-chocolate-sipping months, we’ve collated our absolute must try al fresco dining spots for you to test drive whist the sun’s still smiling down.

Zerodegrees, Blackheath

If you find yourself south of the river in the coming weeks, make a beeline for Zerodegrees – the oh so expert craft brewery and restaurant group, serving up all sorts of frothy goodness – prefect for a bite to eat whilst overlooking the gorgeous green shades of Greenwich Park. Not your typical brewery, Zerodegrees are always thinking outside the beer box. Their brand spanking new #FirstSips campaign offers eight limited edition numbers each month, with each ‘special brew’ limited to just 1000 litres (around 2000 pints) so you better get down to Blackheath fast – when a beer is gone, it’s gone! With super fresh grub, delicious special brews and a park side al fresco setting – it’s the perfect post work watering hole!

SUDA Thai, Covent Garden

Set in the calmer pocket of Covent Garden, in the uber-stylish St Martin’s Courtyard, get ready to grab your suit and Thai – that’s all you need to enjoy an outside spot of dining at SUDA. SUDA’s philosophy is ‘all about sharing the best Thai food with friends, family and loved ones’ so prepare yourself for a vast menu covering all bases, from favourites such as Prawn Pad Thai to more contemporary options and combinations, inspired by the streets of Bangkok and far corners of Thailand. SUDA’s selection of cocktails are worth a visit alone – the perfect pit-stop if you’re in the market for a watermelon and lychee martini. Modernist Thai décor and deliciously exotic Thai bites make SUDA the perfect place to watch the world go by over a couple of cocktails with friends.

CAU, St Katherine’s Dock

The Al Fresco dining at CAU St Katherine’s Dock is pretty fancy, we’re not going to lie. Boasting panoramic views spanning the marina, expect Buenos Aires inspired food with fantastic Argentinian grass-fed steaks, small plates to share and sugar-coated desserts like the Piña -cau-lada pudding, all topped off with a super dreamy backdrop. With a passionate team of staff who know the meaty menu inside out, you’re in very safe hands to explore the culinary delights of BA. Inside, the interiors are sleek – with modern, minimalistic blacks and stand-out grass prints on the walls, the white pvc chairs are probably the comfiest you’ll ever sit in. Perfect for lunch meetings with a few small plates, or a super cosy steak dinner date for two, there’s something for everyone at CAU St Katherine’s Dock.
