Apostrophe, the London-based café group, has opened its 20th site this week at 50 Gresham Street, London EC2. This is the second Apostrophe to open following catering group’s CH&Co joint venture investment in January 2012.
The Gresham Street site, a former tailors, is the first Apostrophe to showcase new design formats that will in time be rolled out to other stores. The architects have been sympathetic to the original shop design, retaining the historical façade as well as the original ceiling and wall details. These are complemented by bespoke copper light features and an innovative integrated display system designed exclusively for apostrophe. There is seating for up to 30 people arranged across a variety of formats, including large communal tables. As in other Apostrophes, guests can enjoy complimentary free wifi, newspapers, water and jams.
