Best Bars South of the River…

Whether it’s a major birthday bash, an all-important date, or just a Friday night wind-down you’re after, there are no shortage of bars in South London to choose from. So here at Me:Mo we’ve rounded up our favourite destinations south of the river for you to try:

Nine Lives

Nestled away behind London Bridge station lies a basement bar that holds a host of tropical treasures to be discovered – great cocktails, even greater music, Instagrammable interiors and a shuffleboard table, what’s not to like? From the people behind boutique drinks agency Sweet&Chilli, these dudes really know their stuff, and to top it all off, they operate a zero-waste policy, meaning you can drink up and do good at the same time – it’s a win win.

W.C

Next to Clapham Common station, walk down a winding staircase to find an old disused, yes, you guessed it, W.C. But don’t fear, this old-time public loo has been transformed into a low-lit sexy wine and charcuterie bar which has ‘date night’ written all over it. With candles lighting up the dark wood interiors and often a lone musician serenading the guests, this is the perfect destination if you’re looking for a cosy drink. Staff are knowledgeable without being pushy, the wine selection is superb (and the baked camembert is even better…). Salut!

Mother Kelly’s

If beer is more your thing, head to the railway arches at Vauxhall, where you’ll find bottle shop and taproom Mother Kelly’s. With a crazy good range of beers and ales, take your pick from the 33 taps, or make your way through the copious amount of fridges that line the walls. An industrial chic bar that feels more bar than pub whilst maintaining an unassuming and casual vibe, it’s a great spot for a catch up with mates over a pint, or five.

Four Quarters

If it’s fun you’re after, there ain’t no better joint than Four Quarter’s in Peckham. Don’t expect swish décor or comfy seats, but do expect serious nostalgia, craft beer, cocktails and a whole load of pacman puns. With tonnes of video arcade games available to play for just 25p and beers starting at £4.20, this is one cheap night out. Plus, with Bussey Building just across the street, you can keep the party going all night.

Prosecco House

London’s first Prosecco bar doesn’t disappoint. With a sophisticated lounge bar feel which is perfect for the gram, and a wide selection of over 28 types of premium DOCG Prosecco as well as carefully crafted cocktails, wines and beers, this place has got it all. Ideal for date night or an evening out with the girls it’s a must visit. make sure you check out their monthly tastings too, where you can sample the best fizz on offer alongside a potted history of the drink.
