CAU Opens in MediaCityUK
January 2015: CAU, the restaurant group inspired by the vibrancy, colour and cultural diversity of Buenos Aires, has recently opened in MediaCityUK in December 2015.
CAU MediaCityUK marks the group’s 15th UK opening to date and will be the eighth of 2015 following on from CAU Glasgow which opened in November 2015.
The 3000 square foot restaurant will accommodate 110 covers; the distinctive bold, crisp and vibrant design that has come to characterise a CAU site will be in evidence. The clean lines, grass and sky motifs, booth seating and the open kitchen create an exciting and happy environment for diners to enjoy the eclectic tastes of Buenos Aires.
CAU Food & Drink
Grass-fed Argentinian beef is prominent on the all-day menu at CAU, which also includes twice-cooked pork belly and moreish chicken salad amongst other dishes that are influenced by the cuisine and culture of Buenos Aires.
CAU is not your everyday ‘high street’ restaurant – from the quality of the fresh produce and daily on-site preparation of all elements to the high-end design and fit out of the restaurant and kitchen, plus the ‘own brand’ wine and beer available exclusively at CAU.
16 of the CAU ‘own brand’ wines will be available at CAU MediaCityUK. Each of the wines have been lovingly created by Phil Crozier, CAU and Gaucho’s Director of Wines and have been specifically introduced to accompany some of the premium dishes on the menu. In short, CAU intends to bring something new and genuinely different to the casual dining market in the area.
The CAU menu changes with the seasons but the classic steak highlights are available all year round. These include a Tira de Ancho, often referred to as ‘the king of steaks’; a spiral cut of rib-eye, marinated in chimichurri and grilled slowly for maximum tenderness and the Lomito, a fillet of rump which in Argentina is considered the finest cut.
These premium cuts are just part of an accessible all day menu that includes breakfast from 7.30am, weekend brunch and a knock out Sunday Roast with all the trimmings: roast rump of beef, Yorkshire pudding, Josper roast carrots and beef fat roast potatoes.
CAU is the sister restaurant group to the successful Gaucho brand which operates 15 restaurants in the United Kingdom. Launched in 2012 CAU currently comprises 16 sites including Liverpool, Wilmslow, Bristol, Guildford, Cambridge and Amsterdam.
