All PR’s can relate to picking up a copy of a title that they are expecting coverage in, frantically flicking through the pages to find that golden piece of coverage. More often than not one is never 100% certain if it will make it at all, even though the journalist has promised and you, in your excitement, have told the client.
So when Thursday arrived (otherwise known as Shortlist day), we were flicking through the latest copy of the magazine, hoping and praying that said promised coverage would be in there and were delighted to find that not one but two clients had been included.
Sakagura, the fine dining Japanese restaurant on Heddon Street was reviewed in the Pints + Pistachios feature for their new Yakiniku Barbecue menu. Turning the page to our surprise the second piece of confirmed coverage appeared with Tak Tokumine, CEO of Japan Centre and Shoryu Ramen, featured in The Chosen Few with his selection of favourite Japanese Cook Books. With a circulation of 503,089, Shortlist is one of the leading male lifestyle titles and paved the way for free sheet titles.
Having worked in Restaurant PR for nearly 10 years nothing will ever beat that feeling of getting a great piece of press for your client – let alone two in the same title!
