Enoteca Da Luca to launch in Old Street
Enoteca Da Luca, the restaurant group that brings the local Italian enoteca experience to London, will be adding to their portfolio with a new launch in Old Street in April 2016.
With four current sites in the City and Mayfair, Enoteca Da Luca Old Street, will follow their philosophy of ‘Piccolo E Bello’, small is beautiful. Emphasising small seasonal menus, small plates to be shared, attention to detail in everything they do and showcasing the best small producers from across Italy.
Despite growing, the group’s owners Roberto Dora and Marie Weston are keen to maintain their independent spirit and their friendly local vibe, as such each site has its own charm and character.
Enoteca Da Luca Old Street will be their largest site, located at the Bower development where diners can enjoy both inside and outside seating. The concept for design is to unite a classic Italian dining room aesthetic with a contemporary architectural environment. The use of Classical materials and lighting set against contemporary design completes the luxurious modern take on this traditional Italian Restaurant.
Head Chef Claudio Illuminati, who hails from Tom Aikens and Zafferano, has designed the menu around innovative twists on Italian classics, including a Fish Carbonara with grated egg and ginger and an orange infused rabbit ragu. Claudio has also installed a herb garden on the roof for the freshest supply of micro herbs.
Front of House will be managed by Max Sali, previously from Tinello and Locanda Locatelli.

Notes to Editor
Meet the team:
Founded by Roberto Dora in 2010, the first Enoteca Da Luca is nestled in the heart of the city on Devonshire Square. Marie Weston and Roberto met and founded the second Enoteca, by Guildhall and since then the company has gone from strength to strength, with another two sites by St Paul’s and in Mayfair.
Roberto Dora began his restaurant career twenty years ago. His passion for customer service alongside proper Italian food and wine, has enabled Enoteca da Luca to rapidly become one of the City’s most popular destinations.
Marie left a career in finance to pursue her dream of working with food and hospitality. After a year spent running a popular Parisian restaurant, she travelled the length of
Italy researching regional dishes and wine producers, and meeting restauranteurs and chefs to get inspiration. This experience gave Marie a clear idea of what she wanted to offer London, a real Enoteca experience, which is what lead to the collaboration with Roberto and growing the Enoteca group. Marie is a qualified sommelier and certified cheese-lover!
Claudio Illuminati, Head Chef
Claudio’s fascination with food stemmed from his mother, who worked as a chef and taught him to bake his favourite Coconut and Nutella Cake when he was just four. He received a 2 Rosette award at 21 years old, when he was Head Chef at Cielo Restaurant and has worked with Tom Aikens, Gordon Ramsay, Michel Roux and Marco Sacco to name a few.
Max Sali, General Manager
Max Sali joined Enoteca Da Luca in January. Originally from Carmignano near Florence, Max worked as a wine buyer and manager for Giorgio Locatelli for nearly 15 years. Max joined the Enoteca team to combine his two passions; great customer service and creating a top notch Italian experience.
