John Lewis has transformed its Oxford Street rooftop into a festive forest, inspired by Britain’s woodlands and forests. Scottish game and whisky experts Mac & Wild will be serving up their exclusive Christmas burger featuring a demi brioche bun, fried confit turkey leg, venison stuffing, brie, cranberry, and truffled bread sauce. Expect warming cocktails such as a homemade pine liqueur and mulled 8-spice Negroni from mixologist experts Background Bars.


The Boundary Rooftop

Offering stunning views of East London, the Boundary Rooftop Bar is part of the Boundary Hotel by Sir Terrance Conran and oozes style and sophistication. This winter season, the menu has been given a festive makeover with such dishes as raclette, baked Vacherin Mont d’Or, Fondue Savoyarde and a selection of hot cocktails. Guests needn’t worry about it being chilly, with heaters, an open fire pit and even complimentary blankets available.


Gingerbread Winter Cabin at York & Albany

Gordon Ramsay’s York & Albany in Camden has opened a fairy tale inspired Gingerbread Winter Cabin in its courtyard. The menu includes venison croquettes, butternut squash soup and gingerbread man croutons, which can all be washed down with winter cocktails. Also on offer is an indulgent gingerbread inspired afternoon tea, with crème brûlée, stem ginger and cranberry scones, gingerbread macaroons.


Winter Pergola on the Roof

Pergola On The Roof is back and with a Nordic-mystical forest theme. Set under a 100-feet-high canopy of holly, ivy, and winter flowers. Think silver birch trees, low level lighting, blankets, cedar wood, oaky scents and candle light. The food and drink line up is strong, with two bars and tasty dishes being served up by Snaps & Rye, Le Bab, Patty & Bun and Le Bao.

Pilsner Winter Garden at Galvin HOP


A Bavarian-style tent has popped up in HOP’s garden, featuring rustic wooden barrel tables, set against a backdrop of Christmas décor and twinkling fairy lights. The tent features its own bar with a 250 litre copper tank, serving up to 440 pints of fresh Pilsner Urquell which is delivered weekly direct from the Czech Republic. For those not keen on beer, mulled wine and a range of spirits are also available. The food menu features Galvin HOP’s signature dogs, including the Galvin Christmas Dog Deluxe and the Galvin Royal Dog Deluxe. Also on offer are bar snacks such as Saddleback Pork Rilettes and remoulade, Beef Rump Burger and Tarte Flambée.
