This week is London Beer Week and the capital has embarked on a celebration of beers, ales, lagers and even ciders! From February 22nd to February 28th the city will be taken over by the country’s leading breweries, distillers, bars and pubs to bring drinking aficionados everything they need to know (and drink). All across the city there will be tasting sessions, tours and a whole lot more from over 90 bars and pubs and it’s still not too late to grab a wrist band.
Galvin HOP, the most recent venture from the Galvin Brothers is an official partner of London Beer Week and are kicking off a series of beer events, starting on the 25th of February. These events explore the craft and potential of beer and will be run by an invited beer sommelier who will guide guests through the finer points. This first event will be a Pilsner and St Stefanus tasting evening starting at 6.30pm. The Pilsner itself will be served unpasteurised from the copper tanks above the HOP bar!
Me:Mo and Aldgate’s own Hungry Donkey have embraced London Beer Week by holding the first of their beer events tonight. This evening consists of beer pairings hosted at Hungry Donkey by Tom Harrow, of WineChap and Honest Grapes. Guests will be able to choose between an intimate session, with only 6 people, or a more raucous affair with up to 15 people sat round the dinner table! They will receive four courses accompanied by two Greek craft beers, from the finest award-wining Greek microbreweries, to pair with each course.
