We asked social media marketing intern Shivali Gohil what is rocking her restaurant world right now, here’s what she had to say:

These are the restaurants that are causing the biggest stir in town and the ones I enjoy eating at and visiting. Padella, a fresh pasta joint, Eggslut isn’t just for breakfast and Japes is the perfect cheese pull you want!

Padella: is the place to be this year, despite being known for its notoriously long queue,

but is worth every single second, you won’t be disappointed trust me, it’s my favourite hand-rolled pasta ever!

Padella is a modern bistro that opened in 2016 in Borough market, that specialises in affordable fresh pasta that changes regularly, they make the most of seasonal ingredients accompanied by wine & Italianate drinks. All pasta is hand-rolled in the restaurant, I love that fact you can see it being made through the window while eating.

Some exciting news…  Padella is opening its second store is on Phipp Street in Shoreditch There’s no concrete date scheduled just yet, but they’ve assured us that it’ll be ‘early 2020’. We’re hoping they mean just after New Year Eve.

No wonder they are opening another store, in 2017 it was in the 100 top restaurants to eat by the Sunday Times UK.  The pasta dish “Pici cacio e pepe” is my favourite pasta dish that is just for £6.50 and was the best dish in 2016 rated by London restaurant award, how can it not be?  They offer a variety of options from Gnocchi with nutmeg butter to Pappardelle with 8-hour Dexter beef shin ragú, which is another must-have dish.

Eggslut: We know a good egg when we see one! Eggslut flew all the way from America to open its first store in Notting Hill on Portobello Road, its been open since 7 august 2019. Eggs slut is a gourmet food concept, that is for egg lovers, Eggslut is serving up signature menu of an oozing gooey egg served with a brioche bun, but don’t forget your tissue it can get messy!

Eggslut isn’t just a breakfast staple, they make egg all day every day, they are serving a gourmet innovative but balanced menu, from the classic Fairfax (which is cage-free soft scrambled egg and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelised onions and sriracha mayo in a warm brioche bum) to their specialties Slut (cage-free coddled egg on top of a smooth potato purée, poached in a glass jar, topped with gray salt and chives, served with slices of baguette.  (I think this is a little too much)

Eggslut believe that food shouldn’t travel a great distance, from the farm, roastery and bakery the journey time from suppliers delivering to the restaurant is under six hours in total, which is pretty amazing I would say.

Japes: Japes isn’t just pizza its deep-dish pizza, not like you’ve had before, it brings Chicago to London Soho. The deep-dish pizza has a golden deep crunchy must eat crust, with the finest mozzarella from Italy, with the best fresh ingredient and homemade tomato sauce, you know you’re in for a big treat! (But there hasn’t been a reliable, steady source of deep-dish pizza in London until now. Until japes).

The menu is divided into deep dish pizza and Chicago style pot pies. The Pizza pot pie has a higher edge crust. Their basic deep dish is just incredible, it starts off in a iron pan, layered first with the finest mozzarella, then homemade tomato sauce with fresh basil and olive oil, the tomato sauce is spread on top to help the ingredients cook nice and slowly keep the rich taste of each ingredient. It won’t be long until your social media is full of cheese pulls which is just amazing!!

Best Chicago-style pizza to gorge yourself on!!
