Restaurant social media is always evolving, and this is happening quicker than ever before. We are constantly being faced with new, trendy and innovative ways our clients can connect to their customers and develop the restaurant’s social media presence. Whether this is an introduction of a new feature on Instagram or a restaurant’s social media feed moving into a new and exciting direction, we’re loving anything and everything. So, without future ado, here is a roundup of our favourite things we’ve seen this week.
Want to know what Gigi Hadid’s favourite colour is? Want to know when Temper London’s Neil Rankin’s nude calendar is being released? Well, now you can find out the answers to all your burning questions with this brilliant new feature release by Instagram. It’s fun and functional which we think should perfectly describe a restaurants social media presence, fun and functional!
Video video video, everyone is all about video. A restaurants social media feed no longer lives in still imagery, people want movement and excitement. Nicola Wilson, founder of the lovely mum friendly website, Tiny Table said, ‘Mums are so busy so they need information quickly, that’s why we love videos, to give our customers all the information they need without having to read huge newsletters or lots of copy in social content.’ Better still, as Instagram TV is separate to the main page, you can add as much video content you want without clogging up the feed. Split screen images
We’re still obsessed with this new trend hitting restaurant social media feeds everywhere. One of our favourites has to come from the Tel Aviv restaurant Bala Baya. Plenty of great split images that look brilliant together but also hold their own as a single image. Check out Me:Mo’s Instagram page for more split image inspiration.
Colourful graphic heaven
Our new brilliant client Woza, who makes some of the best Biltong in the business gave us a list of some of their favourite Instagram feeds and there really were some fantastic ones on there. Dalston Drinks has a brilliant page and plenty of inspiration a restaurant social media feed can use. It’s colourful, fun, full of video content and brilliant graphics which makes this page engaging and of course, effective.
