We were thrilled to see Sakagura receive five stars in a review in the Metro this week. Since launching last month, Sakagura which can be found on Heddon Street, just off Regent Street, has been receiving plaudits for its menu of Japanese ‘washoku’ dishes, developed by Executive Chef Kanji Furukawa.

Anna Dunlop (the Metro) found herself ‘teleported… to Tokyo’ during her visit, siting her favourite dishes as ‘the sashimi mori-awase (a spectacular and beautifully fresh selection of salmon, tuna, yellowtail, seabream and scallop served in a huge dish of ice), the red sea bream and salmon roe kamameshi (cooked to perfection and served in the cast iron pot) and a deliciously creamy matcha fondant gateau’.
