Valentine’s Day is nearly here and whether you think of it as the perfect moment to pop the question or just a good excuse to spend time with your significant other, there’s no shortage of great places to eat and drink – many of them serving really rather special Special Menus – so we thought we’d round up a few of our favourites.

At Trader Vic’s on Park Lane it’s the “Island Style” 4 course sharing menu featuring all sorts of goodies like Drunken shrimp, rare beef skewers, Indonesian rack of lamb and fillet of sea bass with a Rum Giggle cocktail for two as a welcome.

If a touch of fine Indian dining is what you hanker for, Lotus in the heart of the West End will be offering its classic five course menu for Valentine’s Day with the option of specially selected wine pairings for each course – decadent and perfect if you’re looking to catch a show as well!

The ever-romantic Galvin Brothers are offering an embarrassment of Valentine’s riches at all of their restaurants: at the intimate Bistrot de Luxe, head Chef Tom Duffill has created a classic three course menu with aperitif on arrival and handmade chocolates to finish with. At Michelin-starred La Chapelle, one of London’s most romantic venues, Chris Galvin has personally curated a decadent and romantic three course menu with a selection of canapés to start and some devilish handmade chocolates & macaroons to finish. For a less formal but just as intimate experience, head next door to the brand new Galvin HOP where Head Chef Jack Boast has a classic three course menu which is ideal to take your time with.

Meanwhile at Galvin at Windows on the 28th floor of the Hilton on Park Lane, Head Chef Joo Won has created dishes which will guarantee to set your pulse aflutter, including a selection of sharing specials – oysters and bloody Mary dressing, Surf and Turf – Lobster and Chateaubriand. For that extra touch you might even spot the restaurant’s GM and First Dates’ Maitre d’ of Love Fred Sirieix who will be hosting a series of events during Valentine’s Week.

With so many wonderful things happening this Valentine’s Day you’re sure of a deliciously romantic time, all you have to do now is choose…
