It’s not every year you get an ‘extra day’, once every four years in fact, so it only seems right that you should do something special with it.
We were privileged to spend the evening in the company of Fergus Henderson & Trevor Gulliver, the wonderful chaps behind the iconic St. John who for one night only brought their restaurant to Boundary in Shoreditch for a unique dinner.
Hosted by Peter Prescott, Terrance Conran, Fergus, Trevor and David Gleave from Liberty Wines the evening was a chance to enjoy some St. John classics (bone marrow on toast, pigeon & trotter pie, Eccles Cake) paired with a number of wines from their very own vineyard ‘Boulevard Napoleon‘ (which David imports and distributes).
It was also an opportunity for your author to fulfil a long held ambition – to share a Fernet Branca (or two) with Fergus!
