Nothing quite says ‘I love you’ like food does. As a restaurant agency based in London, the team at Me:Mo have seen and have been working alongside all kinds of changes made by restaurants due to the effect of COVID-19. This means that restaurants who wouldn’t normally offer a takeaway or delivery services have had a rejiggle and have come up with some epic boxes. So, in terms of Christmas, this opens up a whole new exciting door when it comes to gifting for the foodie in your life. Here’s what we’ve seen and what we recommend…
DIY Kits
We are absolutely loving the do-it-yourself kits that have been popping up as they’re a fantastic way of bringing restaurant-quality food right to your foodie friend’s front door. Some of London’s restaurants have never been so accessible and it has been so exciting as an agency to work alongside the launch of such innovative ideas. With so much time and effort that goes into the preparation of cooking around Christmas, a DIY kit is an excellent minimal effort and maximum taste treat to get your foodie friend.
One of our favourites is from The Barge House Restaurant who have taken their loaded bread loaves from their menu and created Breakfast En Bread. Breakfast En Bread deliver boxes of their loaded loaves to your home and need barely any effort to recreate what the restaurant offers. All that’s needed from you is to pop them in the oven from 20 mins before adding an egg yolk (which comes with the box) and then grilling for a minute or so. Simple! Breakfast En Bread have four different flavours of loaded loaves – meat, fish, veggie and vegan. Choose your flavour and decide which gift box your friend would love most – could it be The ‘Bloody Hell, Mary’ box, The Hackney Hopster, The Climpson’s Coffee or The Furnace Sparkling Wine Box?
Another one of our London restaurants who we work with as an agency is Shoryu and they’ve created a DIY box so you can recreate their signature ramen at home. The kits come with everything you need for you to make a bowl of ramen just like the Shoryu ramen masters themselves. For those foodie friends who love the taste of Japan – we’re sure the Shoryu DIY Ramen Kit would go down a right treat!
Whilst we obviously aren’t an agency for all London restaurants, we do have to admire the success and brilliance of other brands out there – like Dishoom. Dishoom have a wonderful gift set consisting of a cookbook bundle that comes with a selection of ingredients. This Christmas, gift your foodie friend the Dishoom Cookbook and Ingredients Set and keep your fingers crossed they’ll invite you over for classics including jackfruit biryani, black daal, bacon naan roll and Masala chai.
Christmas Tree Decorations
Being a London restaurant agency doesn’t mean our attention is solely focussed on restaurants. What’s caught our eye this festive season are foodie Christmas baubles. Some of them are fabulously traditional and others are super random – but we still love it!
For your traditional items like Christmas Cake, Christmas Pudding, Mince Pies – Not On The Highstreet have an adorable selection. If your foodie friend is a bit of a baking fanatic, Quince and Cook have a fantastic Kitchenaid Mixer Bauble which is a lot more affordable than an actual Kitchenaid mixer – maybe leave Santa to get that one! As we all know Liberty London are well recognised for the finer things in life – Caviar Christmas Bauble anyone? And finally, what’s more festive than a glass Hotdog Bauble?
This Christmas will undoubtedly be different to ones we’ve had before but what remains the same is that we’ll all still be gifting to our loved ones. So, when you’re shopping for foodie friends, show them how much you care by gifting with something foodie.
