Me:Mo Eats…It has been a short while since we last shared our eating adventures but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been out and about since then! Come December, we’re ready to document the latest restaurants, bakeries and more we’ve been spending our pay checks at and we think it’s about time you paid them a visit too!

Chestnut Bakery

Starting with breakfast, if by some chance you are still yet to be served an ad from Chestnut Bakery in Belgravia, or have miraculously not seen their pastries despite influencer visits, we’re here to put them firmly on the map. Mornings of butter and plenty of laminated pastry can only be a good thing and Chestnut Bakery are spoiling us. We’ve previously devoured Za’atar & Gruyere and Aubergine Parmigiana croissants but recently we hauled ourselves back to return for their excellent Chestnut Danish. Sadly, the season of chestnuts is fleeting, so be sure to get there quick as you definitely do not want to let this one pass by.. Whilst you’re there, it would probably be a good idea to try ‘The Christmas Bun’ collaboration with Edd Kimber (@theboywhobakes), an incredible creation of gingerbread croissant dough filled with ginger cream and caramel and topped with nutmeg marshmallow and frosted cranberries. Very festive.

Barbie Green

Brunch lovers, we hear you. We have been long term fans of the Daisy Green collection and we recently found ourselves pining over their Aussie café Barbie Green. Go for the very pretty award-winning banana bread sandwich – two healthy slabs of banana bread sandwiching a luscious honey mascarpone cream, fresh berries and a scatting of flaked almonds. We love our bread but also wouldn’t mind replacing the loaves for cake every now and again. We also finally tried *THE* fancy bacon roll. Not one, but two, perfectly poached eggs, crispy onions, back bacon, holy f*ck hollandaise, chilli, paratha roti. The combination is a winner.

The Good Egg

Hopping onto lunch, inspiration draws from The Good Egg. Nestled in Kingly Court, Carnaby the vibe in and around this restaurant is everything. The Chicken Shawarma was the dish of the day, enjoyably chowed down amongst the glorious festive décor. Spiced chicken thighs finished with harissa mayo, served with giant cous cous and tahini, so good it deserves a round of applause. The breads and mezze should also make a table appearance and equally so their famous babka.

Elliot’s

For the days you want a dinner that’s a little more special, but exudes a friendly and chill vibe, Elliot’s is just this. Our team visited the Borough Market gem and ordered the ‘trout roe, potato flatbread, sour cream & chive butter’, ‘taleggio, sage & brown butter wood oven sourdough pizza’ and ‘Isle of Mull cheese puffs’ with a shaving of truffle (it was a spoil yourself kind of day). There’s an incredible range of small plates, pizzas and options from the grill, as well as a very impressive selection of wines temptingly displaced in eye view from the bar. Desserts are a must order at Elliot’s and, in the theme of indulgence and true foodie spirit, we ordered four. Tiramisu was generous in both size and booze (big ticks). The wood oven baked cheesecake & macerated strawberries and affogato of chestnut honey gelato & amaretti biscuit were as delightful as they sound. Let’s just say we did not feel out of place at Elliot’s!
