Malaysian giants Roti King are teaming up with London’s favourite bakery, The Dusty Knuckle, for a two-night supper club on 20th & 21st March. Hosted at Dusty Knuckle Dalston, the Dusty Dinners with Roti King will bring together Roti King’s signature dishes with The Dusty Knuckle’s renowned bakery expertise in an urban, communal dining experience.
Head Chef Sugen Gopal of Roti King has curated an exclusive menu taking recipes from the highly anticipated Roti King Cookbook, set for release this April, giving guests an exciting first taste ahead of its launch.
Guests at the Roti King x Dusty Knuckle event can enjoy traditional Malaysian staples such as Spicy South Indian Soup, flaky Roti Canai served with Chicken Kari and split-pea, yellow dal kari, and the ever-popular Nasi Lemak (fragrant coconut rice cooked with pandan leaves, served with ikan bilis, peanuts, cucumber, sambal paste, and five-spiced fried chicken), whilst the vegetarian offering is a shiitake mushroom rendang kari.
The star of the show will be the Roti King x Dusty Knuckle dessert – Dusty Knuckle sugar doughnuts filled with Malaysian coconut jam, topped with Dusty Knuckle morning bun spices. For a classic finish, Malaysian Pulled Tea, Teh Tarik, is also available. Guests will also be able to purchase wine, beer, and cocktails at The Dusty Knuckle bar.
The event will feature a live roti-making demonstration in The Dusty Knuckle’s open kitchen, led by the Sugen Gopal himself.
Beyond food, the Roti King x Dusty Knuckle partnership is built on shared values of community and inclusivity, bringing like-minded food enthusiasts together over a meal that celebrates heritage, craftsmanship, and the joy of breaking bread— or in this case, roti.
