We’re opening our arms and hearts to a healthier and happier 2021, kicking the year off accordingly with some lovely feel-good stories that the restaurant PR world have been eagerly lapping up.

Naturally kicking things off with the Veganuary hook, we continued to see wonderful pick-up for Shoryu Ramen and their January twist on their DIY kits, offering a vegan version with their White Natural ramen and an additional 20% off for customers. A restaurant PR dream – it’s time to get slurping! Media had a fantastic reaction to the restaurant PR story, with pieces secured in traditional media including Metro, both print and online, The Independent online, in addition to stand-out foodie title, Olive as well as Daily Mail online also covering the news.

Keeping on the Japanese foodie bandwagon, food critic Jay Rayner’s review of Heddon Yokocho, the first regional ramen restaurant that launched last year just off of the buzzing Regent Street, was replicated on The Caterer online – highlighting some stand-out commentary of the new cuisine offering “cheerfully stacked, very pleasingly engineered ramen”. Inspired by the Yokocho alleys of Japan, the restaurant prides itself on dishing up a range of ramen from across Japan, accompanied by a retro 70s feel.

Although their doors are closed, Galvin at Windows, the award-winning restaurant located at the summit of the London Hilton on Park Lane, are still getting recognition within the Restaurant PR world for their Afternoon Tea within a twist. Enter Michael Sandwick’s glowing piece on The American Magazine online: “Carpe diem has always been my motto. When I received an invitation to review afternoon tea on the 28th floor of the Hilton Park Lane, boy did I carpe! After these past months of quiet and solitude, it was just the shot in the arm I’ve been waiting for! The dizzying height, stunning view, plush interior and the food of Marc Hardiman wiped these past months of unseizable days from my mind in an instant!”

In other news, the award-winning RA Group launched Ways to be Well – an evidence-based health and wellbeing programmer designed to demystify advise around nutrition, activity, mindfulness and sleep. The Handbook quickly snapped up one of their delicious recipes, covering it in both their newsletter and online.

That’s all for the latest press roundup – we’re sure our press team will be just as busy for the remainder of January! Check-in again this time next week to see how 2021 is progressing in the restaurant PR world, or contact us for a chat at any time.
