This week the MeMo team has been scouring London’s restaurants for the best dinners, deals, and delights! From steaks at The Black Cow, to lamb and roast squash at The Camberwell Arms. Read on to find out where we’ve been eating, and where YOU need to eat next!

The Black Cow

A deep dive into Middle Eastern flavours, wrapped up in an American steakhouse style package? Yes please! We decided to do a whistle stop tour of the entire menu, indulging in the 10Oz Denver steak known as the Benoni, as well as happily tearing into their take on a Philly Cheesesteak, in the form of the Casbah, with beautifully soft pulled steak surrounding an egg yolk, and wrapped up in crispy brik pastry.

But we can’t mention The Black Cow without sharing our top find in the form of their beautifully curated and cooked range of side dishes. From the ‘Cheesy’ – a cauliflower cheese with a twist, to the ‘Not-So-Corny’ a spicy merguez lamb corndog, The Black Cow is firing on all cylinders! The Nudge, and Code Hospitality agree that it’s definitely the place to be.

The Camberwell Arms

A South London restaurant and bar, with regularly changing menus that reflect both the seasons, and the best of British cooking. They’re offering up a menu with a concentration on simple food done brilliantly. A special shout out to the award winning Sunday lunch – but not to be missed is their equally delicious a la carte menu. Our team were lucky enough to delve deep into a particularly indulgent lamb breast, charred beetroot and bagna cauda, complimented by the roast Delica squash. The perfect antidote to the decreasing temperature, and increasing dark evenings!

Kateh

Serving the latest in Persian cuisine, all from its beautiful setting on Warwick Place. This place has flown under the radar, until our team got wind of it… We can highly recommend the Murgh Torsh, chargrilled and marinated chicken with sweet pomegranate juice and served with a healthy heaping of saffron rice! This is definitely a menu worth spending a while pouring over, as each dish is just as special as the last!

Finally.. I couldn’t go without mentioning my favourite recent local find – Korean restaurant Cho Sim in Shepherd’s Bush. If you’re out west then definitely check out this hidden gem, and order a pork belly Bibimbap for the perfect bowl. Thank me later!
