Feast on Six by Nico’s new six course ‘Tokyo’ menu

‘Tokyo’, inspired by a recent trip to Japan’s vibrant capital, will take guests on an unforgettable culinary journey

A taste of Tokyo is finally landing at Six by Nico from the 27th February: transporting guests across the globe to the wonderful world of Japan without them ever having to leave their seats.

After travelling to Tokyo in January for a research trip, Nico and the team discovered a bounty of inspiration for their dishes, which have been adapted and curated to celebrate Japanese food and ingredients, in line with the classic six dish tasting menu concept. Each dish is inspired by a delicious discovery tasted on the trip – from courses inspired by Chicken Karaage to Nico’s take on the classic Ramen.

The new six-course offering highlights a range of iconic dishes from the region including, “Chicken Karaage – Crispy Thigh, Seven Spice and Pickled Daikon”; “Okonomiyaki – Pork & Prawn Pancake, Okonomi Sauce and Japanese Mayonnaise”; “Tonkotsu – Panko Pork Cutlet, Yakitori Ham, Glazed Belly, Cabbage and Hokkaido Pumpkin”; and “Strawberry Candy – White Chocolate Parfait, Matcha Cake and Candy Strawberry”.

Founder Nico Simeone commented:“Our challenge was to create a menu in 7 days after our trip to Tokyo, after immersing ourselves with no preconceptions. With the taste of the ingredients and some of my favourite dishes still lingering in my mind, we were able to create a menu that we believe is our best to date.

 We went to Tokyo with an open mind and, to be honest, a very Westernised palate. Despite the fact that we only had three days in the city, our team has never left a place feeling so inspired to create a menu.”

 The menu is priced at £44 per person with the option to enjoy an expertly selected wine and specialist drinks pairing for an additional £35 at each restaurant. As always, there is a vegetarian alternative available for every course – with tasty alternatives including “Karaage – Crispy Egg, Togarashi and Pickled Daikon” or “Okonomiyaki – Savoury Kimchi Pancake, Okonomi Sauce and Japanese Mayonnaise.”
