The summer is finally here and wow, we’re all ready for it! 20+ degrees means only one thing, the smell of grilling is in the air and barbeque season is here! To celebrate, we’re bringing you three of our favourite barbecue recipes to start the summer in style.

DJ BBQ’s Rad Rum Ribs

First up, this sumptuous recipe from the self-proclaimed king of the grill, DJ BBQ. You can’t be afraid of getting your hands dirty with this one, DJ BBQ’s rad, rum ribs are a combination of melt-in-the-mouth meat smothered in a sweet and sticky blend of dark rum and chilli. This is a super easy recipe that can be prepared the night before and marinated for up to the 24 hours for maximum flavour. Making your own barbeque marinade takes a little organisation but couldn’t be simpler, this recipe combines maple syrup, chipotle chilli paste, Chinese five spice, sweet paprika and more for a sweet and smoky tang. Check out the recipe and give it a go!

Big Has

Any barbeque fan is all over Big Has’ Sunday sessions – if you don’t know, get to know! The weekly barbecue recipes and cook-alongs from the ex-fifteen protégé have gained a cult following, and for good reason. From Barbecue basics like, How to light your barbeque, to epic smoking session, Big Has’ YouTube channel is a treasure trove of mouth-watering recipes. It’s a tough choice but our favourite barbecue recipe is this absolute classic, rolled ribeye steak with a classic Italian salsa verde. Check it out.

Melissa Thompson, AKA Fowl Mouths Food

One of our favourite foodies and BBC Good Food journalist, Melissa Thompson really knows her way around a barbeque. If you’re looking for something fresh, light and a little bit different, this Barbecued bream with spring onions, lemon & chilli is for you, one of our favourite barbecue recipes for the summer. The soft and flaky bream melts in the mouth and is perfectly complimented by the zesty lemon and char of the grill. Delicious, and even better with a fresh, crunchy salad and a crisp white wine. Can you hear the weekend calling?
