To be expected, there was much excitement and nervous anticipation as the 4th July dawned, as the slow but steady revival of the hospitality PR industry with restaurants, bars, and cafes waking up in the initial aftermath of COVID lockdown, blowing away the cobwebs, ready to welcome keen-bean customers back through their doors.

As hospitality PR’s we continued to operate throughout lockdown, servicing a number of our wonderful clients to the best of our ability, looking to pivot their offerings as best we could. But now with the all-important objective back in sight – driving covers and filling restaurants (taking social distancing into account of course!), our main press office function turned to securing as much press coverage as possible around our client’s re-openings and what they were offering to their loyal customers by way of an incentive to come dine with them once again.

We were thrilled to secure coverage in the Evening Standard for one of our longest standing clients, award-winning Galvin at Windows, located on the 28th Floor of Hilton London on Park Lane, Mayfair, as well as in everyone’s trusted go-to dining out bible, Hot Dinners. We also had another string to our bow, alongside GAW reopening which was the announcement of their new Head Chef, Marc Hardiman, securing some lovely appointment coverage in the likes of Big Hospitality and The Caterer.

One of our favourite neighbourhood joints, London Stock had some fantastic local London coverage in The Resident around their re-opening while ramen-lover’s all time favourite hot spot, Shoryu Ramen, continued to feature in some of our top tier consumer titles, such as BBC Good FoodTime Out and Hot Dinners with news of their DIY Ramen Kits.  News of Shoryu sites re-opening was also secured in the go-to trade reads, Propel and CGA.

While there is still much apprehension and sense of the unknown for our clients and indeed the wider hospitality scene, we can continue to remain positive for them and work closely with them, day in, day out, to ensure we’re offering the best advice and support from a hospitality PR and marketing point of view to help them get to where they need to, in this new-world order than we are having to conform to.
