It appears that we’re not alone in our obsession. Byron Burger opened its doors more than a decade ago, and the Brits have had a love affair with posh burgers ever since. In London, Five Guys’ cheeseburger was the most ordered food on Deliveroo. And an increase in the quality and quantity of meatless optionshas made the veggie burger a big player in the food scene. There’s no denying that the burger market is hot, which has led to heightened competitionamong restaurants that specialise burger flipping.

Slow Richies

If you’re ever in Peckham, Slow Richies is a must visit. And even if you’re not in the area, it’s worth the trip. Located inside Brick Brewery’s Tap Room, it’s a street food kitchen that serves up serious burgers. The sauces are a bit spicy, but you can easily wash the heat away with an ice-cold beer. If you’re not afraid of getting a little messy and traveling south of the river, then this is the perfect spot for you. 

Hache

Hache proves that burgers can be chic. Far different from Slow Richies, this local chain has Parisian-inspired interiors, although the menu is a far cry from a French diet. You can find any burger you could dream of here, from a Mexican steak burger to veggie goat’s cheese burger. There are also plenty of locations, including Camden, Clapham and Balham, so Hache is there for you whenever a burger craving strikes. 

Mother Flipper

American burgers and their finest, Mother Flipper has cheeky burgers to match its cheeky name. Part of the Kerb family, this Brockley Market stunner is a must visit for any burger lover. With veggie and gluten free options, it’s a relatively hidden gem that will leave your mouth watering.
