Roti King x CLASH at STEREO: How MeMo Built a Restaurant Brand Collaboration

Aug 16th 2026

On Thursday 13 August 2026, Roti King and CLASH Magazine took over STEREO in Covent Garden for one night of Malaysian food, DJs and a 500 capacity room. MeMo brought the two brands together and ran the campaign around it across social, digital marketing and PR.

The thinking behind it was simple. Roti King has spent over a decade building a following on roti canai and curry, from a basement site in Euston to six restaurants. CLASH has spent more than twenty years covering the music and culture that the same audience lives in. Both brands were built by community rather than by advertising, so putting them in one room was a restaurant brand collaboration long before it was a campaign.

STEREO hosted it. The 500 capacity Covent Garden venue took its cues from New York and London nightlife with a hint of Parisian elegance, and was given over to a curated line up of DJs including Andre Power, Talk Nice Sounds, Pia Collada and CLASH’s in house DJs. Roti King served its signature Malaysian flavours through the night. Tickets were free and released through Dice.

“We’re thrilled to partner with CLASH, a publication that shares our passion for creativity, community and culture. At Roti King, we’ve always believed that great food has the power to bring people together, and music has always been a big part of that experience. This collaboration is a celebration of the communities that inspire us everyday, and we hope it brings people together for a night of incredible food, great tunes and even better company.”

– Ganan Kathagurai, Co-owner, Roti King

“Roti King felt like a natural partner for CLASH. We both celebrate culture through community, creativity and shared experiences, so bringing music and food together for one night made complete sense. It’s also one of my favourite places to eat in London, so being able to help bring this collaboration to life has been genuinely exciting.”

– Daniel Blenman, Brand Partnerships, CLASH Magazine

Who played

Andre Power is a global DJ, producer and vibe creator, known as the founder of the world renowned LINK UP parties. He has performed in over 50 countries, playing major stages including EDC, Hi Ibiza, Coachella and Outside Lands, and sharing the stage with Keinemusik, Black Coffee, James Blake and Kaytranada. His sound blends house, afro house and global beats. Launched in 2021, his LINK UP series has grown into one of LA’s most in demand parties, expanded across the US and is now touring internationally. He is currently working on his debut EP, with the first single slated for release in late 2026.

Talk Nice Sounds. Born and bred in West London, Ittman is a DJ and producer whose sets are built on the unexpected. As one half of Talk Nice Sounds, the community led DJ collective and creative platform, he moves between house, garage, hip hop, Afro and beyond, with selections that celebrate London’s musical landscape and keep dancefloors moving from start to finish.

Pia Collada is a Goa based bass DJ featured on Boiler Room, Mixmag Asia, Keep Hush and BBC6. She is the founder of BASS WAV, a femme forward platform for DJs, musicians and artists, and a resident at Worldwide FM. Having grown up between India, the USA and Tanzania, she blends bass heavy genres including DnB, jungle, UKG, breaks, dub, reggae and dubstep with afro influenced genres like amapiano and gqom. She has played Glastonbury, Shambala and Magnetic Fields, and shared the stage with Kahn, Madam X, Sully, Neffa-T and Hamdi.

CLASH DJs played across the night alongside the guest line up.

How the collaboration came together

MeMo delivers integrated marketing for Roti King across social, digital marketing and PR. This collaboration came out of that remit rather than sitting next to it. MeMo worked with both brands to bring the partnership together and handled the marketing around the night, from the content and the social and digital activity to the press and influencer work that took the story past the guest list.

That is the case for keeping social, digital and PR in one team. A restaurant brand collaboration only works when the announcement, the content, the media and the ticket link all land on the same day and point the same way. Split across three suppliers, that rarely happens.

About MeMo

MeMo is a culture first hospitality marketing agency. We handle integrated marketing for restaurant and hospitality brands, with strategy, social and content, PR and influencer, and digital sitting in one team rather than four. MeMo handles social, digital marketing and PR for Roti King.
