As much as we’ve enjoyed risking the rain and cold to visit our favourite restaurants on various terraces and pedestrianised pavements, we cannot wait to once again enjoy the full dining options of some of our favourite restaurants. This week in London restaurant news, it’s of course all about the long-awaited May 17th and the lifting of dining restrictions.  We’ve collected some of our favourite spots below that will be re-opening in full from next week, so crack open your proverbial diaries and get booking!

Lima

Nestled in the heart of Fitzrovia, we were truly excited to learn the news that London Peruvian restaurant Lima will be returning from May 18th. Their menu celebrates the often-under-rated flavours and techniques of Peruvian cooking, and was the first Peruvian restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star. Head chef Sergio Arcas following a recent pilgrimage to Peru has brought a new collection of dishes to the restaurant, and centred seasonal ingredients throughout. Book your table to explore the fresh, vibrant flavours of Lima, conveyed through both the indulgent yet light tasting menu, as well as their a la carte offering.

Sumosan Twiga

Located in the heart of the London luxury nightlife scene, and circled by the historic Sloane Square, this is a dining experience you won’t want to miss out on. Sumosan Twiga’s menu explores traditional Italian flavours and techniques, whilst also offering contemporary Japanese cuisine, meaning there’s something for everyone to enjoy no matter your tastes.

But that’s not all, the biggest news from this famed London restaurant is that their luxury party lifestyle will very much come back in full, with their Marhaba brunches returning with a bang. This is not your ordinary brunch, expect a live DJ, banging tunes, and a party that just won’t stop. If this sounds like the place you want to reunite with your friends, then book your table here.

Big Fernand

New kid on the block Big Fernand takes the lowly hamburger and introduces a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’. Originating from a small Parisian street, and growing in success and renown across the City of Dreams, Big Fernand have taken their qualité hamburger and crossed the channel to open a restaurant in the heart of South Kensington.

Expect big flavours wrapped up quality produce! Big Fernand’s menu takes the classic hamburger, and gives it a French twist with options such as raclette cheese, smoked bacon and more, elevating this classic into the hamburgé. Whilst we wait for their indoor offering to open from May 17th, there’s always the option to click and collect at their curbside delivery.

The Clove Club

Don’t let the relaxed and informal atmosphere of East London’s top restaurant fool you, this is some seriously good food. Opening in 2013 following the success of The Clove Club, a supper club started by the restaurant’s founders, the restaurant went from strength to strength. Seven years on, The Clove Club upholds it’s phenomenal reputation and offers a tasting menu that celebrates produce from all around the British isles. Indulge in a wine pairing to enhance your experience, or sample the recommended tea pairings for something a little bit different. Their sophisticated and elegant approach to dining earned them a spot on the World’s Top 50 Best Restaurants in 2019. Re-opening on May 17th, this is a restaurant to go on your must-visit list!

That’s all for now for our London restaurant news, but stay tuned for lots more inside tips on the best places to eat when restrictions are lifted!
