2022 – it’s a year full of hope and opportunity, with new restaurant openings, food events and parties on the horizon. In our digital world, it’s the top Instagram accounts 2022 and the influencers we all look to for finding London’s hottest restaurant tips, so we’ve collated a list of who you should be following this year.
The Rising Stars
Last year saw big changes to how Instagram works, especially with the rise of Reel, and with this came a whole host of new Reelstars changing the way influencers are working and showcasing restaurants and bars. Check out @loulouexplores, who has amassed over 1M views driven by her bar and restaurant reels and series on Black-owned businesses for Black History Month. Brunch maven @Daniel_JohnEats grew his following massively in 2021, with home recipes, restaurant reviews and some of the UK’s best avo-toast shots on the ‘gram. Finally, for those looking for vegetarian and vegan recipes this year, rising star @lukecatleugh brings recipes, London Lifestyle content and highlights of restaurants he visits to his growing fan base – and has even been named as a 2022 rising star by Hello! Magazine.
The Tik Tok Stars
If Tik Tok in 2020 was lockdown lunacy and dance crazes, 2021 saw food influencers step up on the platform and showcase the best London has to offer. Amassing over 1.7M followers is @CaughtSnackin, famous for their recipe videos and restaurant reviews, and Tik Tok break out star Poppy O’Toole – a Michelin-starred chef turned (and self proclaimed Potato Queen!) brings restaurant quality recipes and tips to her 2M fans.
Socialite Super Stars
London’s restaurant scene is dominated by its frequent new openings and glitzy launch parties (C-bomb permitting of course 😷), and it’s the out-on-the town influencers who are must-follows to check out the latest openings. Check out the feeds of Isabella Charlotta Poppius, seen at some of the chicest openings in the last year, singer and The Voice star Pixie Lott, regularly gracing restaurants across town, as well as Instagram stars Carrie Pendle, Charlotte Emily Price, Erwin Trinidad and Daniel Marin.
The OG’s
Our OG food and drink superstar influencers may have built their followings and expertise over many years, becoming Tastemakers and trendsetters in their own right. We’re obsessed with @Food_Feels, now back in the UK and Europe and showcasing cutting edge independent restaurants, @ks_ate_here, whose feed we DON’T recommend if you’re hungry and nowhere near an eating establishment, Felicity Spector, who is the go-to account for desserts and baking related, and the account which turned Instagram into the driving force behind restaurants in London, @ClerkenwellBoyEC1.
