Four New Venues at the London Museum

Green & Fortune

Green & Fortune is the independent London hospitality business behind Rotunda at Kings Place and the events at Sea Containers. This summer it won a ten-year contract to run the food and drink at the new London Museum in Smithfield, which opens on 28 November. MeMo has run its press since July 2026.

The brief

Food as a reason to visit

Four new venues in one landmark building: Clerks House, a 140-cover all-day dining room; Bartholomew’s, a bar with cocktails by Mr Lyan Studio; the Temperance Cocoa Rooms, a café open 24 hours from Thursday to Sunday; and The Roost, a rotating residency for new London talent.

Robin Gill leads the food with chef director Dan Rampat. The job was to make London hungry for all four, and to put CEO John Nugent on the map.

The challenge

Sharing the stage with a museum

The London Museum is one of the biggest cultural openings in years, and most coverage of the building leads with the museum.

Its own press team owns many of the same titles, and some only want one story about Smithfield. Every pitch has to fit around theirs.

What we did

An announcement, a CEO and an opening

The announcement

We wrote and issued the release revealing all four venues, Robin Gill and Mr Lyan on 21 July. It went out to national, London, food, culture and trade media together.

32 pieces followed in July, from Time Out and Hot Dinners to The Caterer and Propel.

Profiles

We’re building John Nugent’s profile around Green & Fortune’s growth and its part in Smithfield. The Currency, the Sunday Express and Irish business media have said yes so far.

Robin Gill and the individual venues give us more stories to pitch.

The opening

We’ve written the next two releases, for The Roost and the full venue reveal, and are working on an exclusive for the launch.

The press review day is on 24 November, with an evening event on the 26th. We plan all of it with the London Museum team.
